The 1920s were boom times in the L.A., and one of the period’s most prolific developers was Frank Meline, an entrepreneurial architect with both business acumen and great taste. At the time this house was constructed—the chief architect of the Frank Meline Company was a young designer named Wallace Neff—who no doubt had a hand in this project. Proving especially adept at grand Spanish Colonial Revival homes, Neff would move on to his own practice, designing some of LA’s grandest houses until the Great Depression.

What We Love: The visually cohesive palette throughout the house; the extensive use of Moroccan tile and vintage light fixtures.
